Hermle Grandfather 01180-N91161
94" H x 21" W x 13-1/4" D
This stately rendition of the original John Goddard is possibly one of the most
eminent tall case clocks in American history. Standing a full 94" high, it has a
prominent and dignified presence. The solid wood pinch-waist case, finished in
elegant cherry, has a removable hood for easy movement and dial access. The
crown ornament and carved rosettes of the swan neck pediment flank the urn
styled finial, while four fluted, fully turned columns give the hood full depth
and aesthetic beauty from all sides.
The dial balances the 18th century design
with the modern movement and its accessories. The antique appearance of the dial
is matched with a combination Arabic and Roman numeral chapter ring, a
traditional moon phase motif and a date indicator. Inside the waist you will
find a wooden stick pendulum and a polished bob. The waist is trimmed with two
quarter turned fluted columns, and the lockable waist door is adorned with the
distinguished block and shell characteristic. The proportioned base has fine
molding and ogee bracket feet.
The brass 8-day cable driven movement offers the
three most renowned clock melodies, Westminster, Whittington and St. Michael.
The movement features a Graham anchor, second hand and automatic night
shutoff.
