This large stunning solid hardwood and veneer case features a walnut finish with
hand-applied inlays that bring the burl panels to life. The double cascading
bonnet crown and dual-tiered base enhance this massive case's very attractive
proportions, and the burl wood columns with brass caps are mounted at an angle
to produce a better perception of the case's depth.
Beveled glass is found on
the waist side panels as well as in the lockable hood and waist doors. All of
the doors are easily removable and give essential access to the accessories and
for cleaning.
The dial embodies the fretwork design and gives you a small view
of the movement with its see-thru center. The moving moon disk is just as
impressive with its combination of see-thru stars and embossed stars, as well as
the relief patterns of the valleys in the moon. The matching fretwork motif is
followed thru to the banded polished shells ad the polished pendulum bob. The
pendulum is accented with twisted rods and a full harp.
The brass 8-day cable
driven movement offers the three most renowned clock melodies, Westminster,
Whittington and St. Michael. The movement features a power reserve, Graham
anchor, second hand and automatic night shutoff.
