Chatham - 2004TCH
The
Chatham is a superb copy of a Simon Willard tall clock
made in the Roxbury (MA) style, circa 1792.
The solid mahogany case
features fine burl veneers to the panel work, pierced
and blind fretwork with fluted hood and waist columns.
The columns are mounted with brass stops and capitals.
The hood is crowned with ball and spire finials
and has beveled glass side windows for viewing the movement.
The marquetry edge line, cross-banding and corner
quadrants match the original and are all laid by hand.
The base features ogee bracket feet.
The moon-phase hand-painted
dial is a hand painted copy of the original made in
Boston MA.
The finest quality triple
chime cable movement plays Westminster, St. Michael's
and Whittington melodies.
The hood is removable
for ease of movement adjustment.
The movement has automatic
night silencer, chime sequence and automatic beat setting.
The cabinet is hand
rubbed and waxed to achieve an antique mahogany finish
with light distressing.
Delicate milled hands
and solid brass fittings..
