Introduced in 1860 by Admiral Fitzroy, provider of the world's first weather forecasting service and earlier Captain of H.M.S. Beagle (of C. Darwin fame). The instrument carries his instructions for interpreting the pressure changes, a C & F thermometer and a chemical weatherglass. Solid oak case with lacquered brass fittings. Medium oak finish.
